Tom Kenyon’s 2010 Teaching Schedule
There are currently only two Tom Kenyon workshops scheduled for 2010. Tom is taking a sabbatical for most of the year to record and write.
The Crystal Palace Within and the Halls of Amenti
Seattle, October 29-31
THIS WORKSHOP IS COMPLETELY FULL
DO NOT SHOW UP AT THIS EVENT IF YOU AREN’T REGISTERED.
This weekend Intensive is a major Hathor activation, a journey of sound and healing, focusing upon the Crystal Palace Within (the Pineal Gland). This gland contains crystalline structures that will be activated and tuned to the higher frequencies of light through the catalytic sounds of Tom’s nearly four-octave range voice. This type of activation accesses and opens the perceptual channels to multi-dimensional awareness. It is a key to the higher creative mind, and it is through this aspect of consciousness that new solutions to personal, social and global challenges can be discovered.
The Halls of Amenti refer to a mythic sacred architectural space beneath the sphinx. It is in this unique geometric formation that new thought, new vision, and new solutions to old problems reside as vibrational seeds. However, it’s not necessary to journey to the paws of the sphinx to make contact. Within your own Pineal Gland—within its crystalline structures—you possess your own version of the Halls of Amenti. In the course of this work, we will work with specific sound codes that will allow you to open these halls of esoteric knowledge within yourself.
In preparation for this transformational experience, it is strongly suggested that participants download the Pineal Dimensional Attunement. This brief sound meditation appears in the “Sound Gifts” section of the web site and can be downloaded free of charge. It is suggested that participants listen to this attunement at least a few times a week, if not daily, before gathering for this main event.
Those attending this weekend intensive can expect a fine-tuning of their consciousness to higher levels of insight and creativity, increased feelings of wellness, and to a major opening in their own ascension process.

Surangama Meditation Retreat
THIS EVENT IS COMPLETELY FULL. WAITING LIST IS FULL.
This profound, three-day, meditation Retreat will focus upon interaction with archetypal Tibetan meditation deities for the purpose of receiving the benefit of their power and consciousness.
This will be the most advanced meditation Retreat in Tibetan Buddhist tantra Tom has taught to date. Due to the exceptional potency of tantric meditative states, participants should be prepared for rapid and profound spiritual transformation, specifically resulting from the extensive use of catalytic sound throughout the retreat.
One does not need to be a Tibetan Buddhist, or even a Buddhist, to participate in this Intensive, nor does one need to have any familiarity with Tibetan meditation. However, it helps to be familiar with meditation, or inner-directed focus.
Though this is an exceptionally advanced retreat, beginners will be accepted and will benefit immensely from this experience, as sound is the great leveler. Through Tom’s catalytic sound, a beginner or anyone can rise to a very high state of evolution more quickly than almost any other means of transformation. However to be clear, we will be moving through empowerments rapidly and no time will be taken to answer elementary questions that slow down the transformation.
Our allies in this work will be the use of sacred sound and ceremonial ritual so that we can enter into the numinous (light filled) inner worlds of Mind and commune directly with the tutelary deities as they manifest within each of us.
Tom has entitled this Meditation Retreat “Surangama “ due to the extensive use of mantra and catalytic sound using his nearly four-octave range voice. The Surangama is a Buddhist text that describes a meeting between Gautama Buddha and those of his disciples who had become enlightened. The dialogue between them reveals the methods each of them used to attain enlightenment.
One of the enlightened humans was the Bodhisattva, Kuan Yin, who reached illumination by meditating on the sound of ocean waves as a means to enter into a direct awareness of bodhicitta (enlightened mind). Thus, sound was a means to this Bodhisattva’s personal enlightenment.
The work will center on the refined states of body and mind that arise when we interact with beings of the Sambhogakaya (realm of pure sound and light). In classical Tibetan Buddhist Tantra, these unique states of body and mind would be called Empowerments, and we enter into eight of these in the course of this Intensive.
The tutelary deities we will work with will include White Tara (Bodhisattva of Compassion), Black Tara (Bodhisattva that transforms deep-seated negativity), Chenrezig (Bodhisattva of Compassion), Amitaba (the Buddha of Infinite Light), Amitayus (the Buddha of Infinite Life), as well as the Kalachakra-union of Vajrayogini (primordial feminine power) and Chakrasambvara (master of duality, and the conscious union of nirvana and samsara). We will also be working with Kuan Yin (Bodhisattva of Great Compassion). Although Kuan Yin is not a Tibetan meditation deity, we will be working with this extraordinary being of compassion as part of the Retreat.
The Benefit to Receiving Empowerments
In classic Tibetan Buddhist tantra, empowerments impart the consciousness and power of the Deity, which are expressions of consciousness.
White Tara imparts a Sattvic luminous white light that brings compassionate equanimity. She is a Protector, guarding you from the snares of samsara (the illusion of duality). She is also the culmination of all 21 Taras, which are 21 aspects of light and frequency. All colors are in her, but her dominant frequency is luminous white light. When a relationship with her is formed, she protects your consciousness from the snares of illusion (duality).
Black Tara allows you to enter into the deepest darkness of your own unconsciousness and empowers you to transform deeply seated negativity—a potent ally for dealing with your shadow.
Chenrezig empowers the receiver to witness the suffering of the world, but not be caught up in it and to engage compassionate action. This is the empowerment that can allow you to be “in the world, but not of the world.”
Amitaba empowers you with the infinite light of bodhicitta or enlightened mind. This light allows you to perceive subtle, hidden situations. This is a Buddha of rapid transformation due to the intensity of his Buddhic-light. He is also the Protector of the Pure Lands.
Amitayus, the Buddha of Infinite Life, is the brother of Amitaba, and embodies the mystery of how light becomes life, or how spirit becomes biology. His empowerment increases life force and extends life span.
The Kalachakra of the Union of Vajrayogini and Chakrasambvara is a potent tantric empowerment that imparts the stabilizing ability of Chakrasambvara so that one can be “in the world and in bliss” at the same time, as the Deity stands with one foot in samsara and one foot in nirvana. Vajrayogini is fierce, primordial feminine power. She carries a flaming sword and at times shoots flaming arrows, which pierce through egoic delusion. Since Vajrayogini is related to the fire element and Chakrasambvara is related to the water element, the union of these two opposites creates a powerful Kalachakra. This type of tantric empowerment generates a powerful, rapid, transformational vortex.
Kuan Yin is the Bodhisattva of compassion who hears the suffering of the world. A primary method of Kuan Yin involves sound, and since sound is a near-constant in our day-to-day life, Kuan Yin’s realization can be used by anyone to transform everyday sounds into vehicles for enlightenment. One also gains a sense of compassion for self and the world, but the primary reason for working with Kuan Yin is sound, as it’s everywhere around you, and it can be used as a means to pass through samsara into nirvana while still embodied.
